How can I know that the game is fair?
On Cases.gg, we use a Provably Fair system. This means you, the player, can easily verify game results were truly random and were not tampered with to favor the website or another player.
For single-player games, such as Cases or Upgrader, we use a Seed Pair with Nonce mechanism. This means that we are not able to change or cherry-pick game outcomes, and your input has a direct impact on the outcome. The system makes it simple to verify many games at once.
The game seed consists of three values:
- Server Seed - A random string generated by us. This seed is hashed using SHA256 and displayed to the player as Server Hash. Server Seed is used for every game outcome until it's retired and revealed to verify results.
- Client Seed - A random string generated by your browser. You can change it whenever you want.
- Nonce - A number that increments by one after each game. It starts at 1.
The game seed is fed to a random number generator to generate random outcomes for your games. Optionally, game modes can use their own nonces to generate multiple outcomes from a single game seed.
When you want to verify your games, the Server Seed is retired and revealed. A new Server Seed is generated, and the nonce is reset to 1. This way, you can verify all the games you've played with the old Server Seed.
Client Seed
You can change your Client Seed at any time.
